Job summary

Mesquite Modules Corporation seeks an Accountant I to support financial reporting, cost accounting, and operations in a rapidly expanding renewable energy environment. The role focuses on close processes, journal entries, and inventory management to improve efficiency.

You will partner with plant operations on production cost analysis, participate in budgeting and forecasting, and assist with audits and SOX compliance where applicable. Strong Excel and ERP experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong cost accounting and inventory management knowledge.
  • CPA or CMA designation preferred.

  • Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions.

Title: Accountant I

Job Summary: A highly motivated Accountant I is sought to support manufacturing operations within a rapidly expanding renewable energy environment. This role will play a critical part in financial reporting, cost accounting, and operational support, contributing to improved efficiency and accuracy across solar manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for manufacturing operations
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Support cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis (labor, materials, and overhead)
  • Partner closely with plant operations to analyze production performance and identify cost‑saving opportunities
  • Monitor inventory transactions and cycle counts, ensuring accurate reporting of raw materials and finished goods
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate policies
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Support internal and external audits, including SOX compliance (if applicable)
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within accounting workflows
  • Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision‑making
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management
  • Experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data analysis
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • CPA or CMA designation preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, filing, and operating office equipment
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to lift and carry light office materials (up to 10–15 lbs.), such as files or office supplies
  • Visual acuity to read computer screens, documents, and reports
  • Ability to attend meetings and interact with employees, customers, and vendors
