The Accountant is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and communicating the internal and external Company financial statements, working papers, and statistical and management information related to one or more companies and/or divisions.

This position will be in Omaha, NE, and hybrid after a period of training. This position is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship.

What will you do?

  1. Compiles, reviews, analyzes and reconciles, and interprets financial information from various sources and prepares working papers and internal, statutory and GAAP basis Company financial statements and supplementary schedules.
  2. Reconcile assigned company investment and cash accounts, as well as basic general ledger account reconciliations.
  3. May review or determine general ledger account, department and allocation coding for invoices, check requests, and travel expense reimbursements.
  4. May enter data into accounts payable software or give payment request documentation to Accounting Technician to enter into software.
  5. Maintains working knowledge of related insurance accounting and financial reporting developments.
  6. Responds to inquiries and answers questions from internal, external, or insurance department auditors regarding financial transactions, balances, and procedures.

What are we looking for?

  1. Bachelor degree in accounting or related field or equivalent.
  2. Knowledge of general accounting principles.
  3. 1-2 years related work experience.
  4. Knowledge of statutory accounting principles.

  2. One who works well independently or as a member of a team as situation dictates.
  3. One willing to work overtime during seasonal demand including occasional Saturdays.
  4. Someone who understands, compiles, reviews and analyzes financial information.
