Job summary

The Center for Youth and Family Solutions (CYFS) is seeking an Accountant to support accurate and timely financial operations, including AP/AR processing, journal entries, and financial reporting. You will collaborate with Finance and program staff to ensure compliant accounting practices.

Starting salary is $65,000 (exempt). The role offers a 37.5 hour work week, generous paid time off, educational assistance, EAP, and a supportive, inclusive culture with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or high school diploma with 3 years of accounting experience.
• Accounting experience preferred.
• Completion of DCFS background check and fingerprinting.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and have an insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, code, and process accounts payable invoices per procedures and grant requirements.
• Review AP listings, verify payments, and assist with checks/e-payments.
• Code and reconcile accounts receivable and post revenues and receipts.
• Prepare and review monthly aged AR schedules and follow up on balances.
• Prepare, enter, and maintain journal entries and other accounting docs.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, investigate variances, and propose corrections.
