Job description

This position involves reviewing supplier invoices and expense reports submitted by department personnel. The role includes accruing revenue for Professional Service Agreements, preparing and posting invoices, and sending them to customers. Additionally, the accountant will reconcile intercompany accounts, assist with the month-end close process by preparing and posting journal entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts with supporting schedules. The position also entails preparing monthly financial statements and assisting auditors during interim and year-end audits.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

• Demonstrates competence in critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills.
• Supports team goals by managing organizational responsibilities and effectively allocating resources.

• Focuses on stakeholder needs to ensure the team meets expectations.
• Prepares and processes journal entries and reconciles general ledger accounts.
• Assists with the month-end close process and performs data analyses and report distribution.
• Cross-trains in other duties within Ambulatory Accounting for flexibility.
• Prepares financial schedules, handles miscellaneous projects, and performs other duties as assigned.
• Reviews supplier invoices and expense reports, accrues revenue, and manages invoice processing.
• Reconciles intercompany accounts and prepares monthly financial statements.
• Manages grants, including journal entries and documentation, and handles accounting for My Health at Home, a DME company.
• Assists with audits and performs technical competencies relevant to the department.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• At least 1 year of experience in general accounting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Over 3 years of experience in a healthcare environment.
• Experience with Workday (3+ years).

Licensure and Certifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the State Board of Accountancy.

Knowledge Requirements

• Proficiency in Excel, typing, spelling, and 10-key skills.
