Job description

Overview

An Accountant General (AG) works as a team with the VP of Finance, Manager, Supervisor and accounting staff to comply with the established financial procedures. Will be tasked with the managing account entries, documents, payments, finances, and reports for the Company.

Responsibilities

• Assemble financial data for audits.
• Check entries for accuracy.
• Enter vendor invoices, pay bills and create invoices for clients.
• Make income or expense entries into the accounting system.
• Make necessary corrections in documents and system programs and file documents (imaging) as needed.
• Maturity to adapt to change as well as variable work schedule, including ability, to analyze problems and provide concise decision or ideas.
• Work as a team with the VP Finance, Manager, and accounting staff.
• Works with payroll, quarterly taxes, asset inventory, cost accounting or other disciplines within the accounting department, if needed.
• Works with reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable, if needed.
• Other duties and projects as assigned by Management and with all affiliates to Luis A. Ayala Colon Sucrs., Inc.

Education, experience and skills required

• Associate degree in accounting required (bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred)
• A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
• Good communications skills and fluently in English and Spanish.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Sage Program oriented, if possible.
• Strong technical, organizational and time management skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional environment with mathematical and analytical skills. Must be an effective listener, clear and direct.
• Teamwork oriented.
