Job summary

Expedia Group, situated in Springfield, Missouri, is seeking an Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team. You will support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, prepare reconciliations, and help ensure US GAAP compliance while maintaining SOX controls.

You will collaborate with Finance, FP&A, Product, Legal, Tax, and Technology teams to deliver accurate financial information and drive process improvements across the company's global accounting operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Up to three years of accounting experience including internship or relevant reporting.
• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial close activities.
• Proficient Excel with attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Clear communication and collaboration with cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
• Assist with applying US GAAP and maintaining SOX controls.
• Review data for variances, investigate issues, and resolve differences.
• Collaborate with Finance, FP&A, Product, Legal, Tax, and Technology teams.
