  • Prepare fixed asset journal entries, including acquisitions, adjustments, reclassifications, transfers, impairments, retirements, and disposals.

Reconciliations, Close & Financial Reporting

  • Perform regular reconciliations of fixed asset subledgers to the general ledger and investigate and resolve discrepancies on a timely basis.

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for fixed asset accounts, including depreciation, construction-in-progress, and gain or loss on disposal.

  • Prepare audit-ready schedules, account analyses, rollforwards, and supporting workpapers related to fixed assets.

  • Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other financial analyses by collaborating with the corporate finance and accounting team.

Capital Expenditures & Capitalization

  • Monitor and analyze fixed asset expenditures and capital projects to ensure costs are properly classified and capitalized in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAP.

  • Partner with operations, fleet, procurement, accounts payable, and finance teams to obtain appropriate documentation and determine the proper accounting treatment for capital expenditures.

  • Monitor construction-in-progress balances and coordinate the timely placement of completed assets into service.

  • Provide budgeting and forecasting support related to fixed assets, capital expenditures, and depreciation expense.

Physical Inventory & Asset Controls

  • Coordinate and oversee periodic physical inventories and verifications of fixed assets across the Company’s locations and operating entities.

  • Reconcile physical inventory results to accounting records, investigate discrepancies, and process approved corrections.

  • Maintain asset location and ownership information and support controls over asset transfers, disposals, and retirements.

  • Identify control gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen fixed asset governance, record accuracy, and accountability.

Audit, Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Respond to internal and external audit requests associated with fixed assets and provide complete, accurate, and timely supporting documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements related to fixed assets.

  • Participate in initiatives to standardize, automate, and improve fixed asset accounting and asset management processes.

  • Support ERP, fixed asset system, and asset management software implementations, upgrades, data cleanup, and process transformation projects.

  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated experience maintaining fixed asset subledgers, reconciling fixed assets to the general ledger, and preparing related journal entries and account analyses.

  • Proven ability to conduct physical inventories, investigate variances, and reconcile discrepancies.

  • Experience with capital expenditure accounting, construction-in-progress, capitalization reviews, and depreciation forecasting.

  • Experience supporting accounting functions within utility services, utility infrastructure, construction, engineering, industrial services, or other asset-intensive businesses strongly preferred.
