Job summary

Thales Academy in Raleigh seeks an Accountant to support the management office, reporting to the CFO. You will maintain financial operations to ensure accuracy and compliance, including AP, cash receipts, and month-end closes.

Responsibilities include budgeting, journal entries, and maintaining accounting controls. A BS in Accounting and 3-5 years' experience are required; knowledge of Blackbaud software is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting required.
• 3-5 years of work experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel; strong spreadsheet skills.
• Knowledge of an accounting information system; experience with Blackbaud software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day accounts payable and cash receipts processes.
• Conduct month-end and year-end closures and prepare journal entries and financial statements.
• Coordinate and manage the annual budget process and prepare monthly budget reporting.
• Develop and maintain appropriate and effective accounting controls.
• Apply a continuous improvement mindset to identify and implement process efficiencies.
