The Aviation Department which operates the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the North Perry Airport is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Accountant for the Financial Operations section to work in the Aviation's Finance Division. This is advanced professional accounting work in the maintenance and review of financial records. Work involves performing more complex accounting duties in the Airport's Finance Division. The employee exercises considerable independent judgment within established policies and procedures. Work is reviewed through periodic external audits, conferences, and the evaluation of various reports.
This position will log, save and maintain finance spreadsheets and reports. In addition, this position will be responsible for reviewing and processing all Finance Sheets received from the Airlines and Business division to properly account for any changes or adjustments in the monthly rents of the tenants.
Professional accounting work in the classification, analysis and reporting of financial data, and may supervise clerical/technical level accounting support staff.
Works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or finance; or a Bachelor's degree and coursework that qualifies for the CPA Examination.
