Sun Technologies, Inc. seeks an Accountant 2 with strong accounting and financial data analytics skills to join our Financial Shared Services Center. You will help elevate data-driven decision making with dashboards and reports using Alteryx, Tableau, and ServiceNow.

The ideal candidate has a solid accounting background, proven analytics capability, and experience in turning data into actionable insights. This is a 3-month contract with extension potential, located in Irving, Texas.

Qualifications

• 2+ years creating data visualizations and KPIs in finance using Alteryx, Tableau.
• Experience with financial accounting processes and reporting.
• ERP/SAP knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver accounting and financial reports with dashboards using Alteryx/Tableau/ServiceNow.
• Create, monitor, and refine KPIs to measure performance against goals.
• Analyze GL, subledgers, cash, AR/AP to identify risks and opportunities.
• Translate analysis into actionable insights and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure data quality, governance and compliance in financial analytics.

• Seeking an Accountant 2 with strong accounting and financial data analytics skills to join our Financial/Accounting Shared Services Center and help elevate our data‑driven decision‑making capabilities.
• The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background and proven success in analytics, data visualization, and process improvement, with a strong focus on Alteryx, Tableau, ServiceNow, and other low‑code / no‑code tools.
• This role requires not only identifying trends in accounting and financial data, but also understanding and clearly communicating the underlying drivers, turning analysis into actionable insights and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver impactful accounting and financial reports, data visualizations, and dashboards using Alteryx, Tableau, and/or ServiceNow, ensuring clarity and actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Create, monitor, and refine KPIs and metrics to measure performance and progress against organizational goals within the shared services environment.
• Analyze complex accounting and financial datasets (e.g., GL, subledgers, cash, AR/AP) to identify risks, opportunities, trends, and process improvement opportunities; provide recommendations based on data‑driven evidence.
• Investigate the “why” behind data trends, not just the “what,” to support root‑cause analysis, control enhancement, and strategic decision‑making.
• Perform risk analyses to identify material financial and execution risks; document findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Identify recurring control, reporting, and data‑quality issues and recommend improvements to templates, standards, metrics, and operating processes.
• Research, design, and build interactive dashboards and reports in collaboration with business owners, translating requirements into solutions that drive value and support close and reporting activities.
• Gather and synthesize input from subject‑matter experts, integrating business context into analysis and visualization.
• Develop, organize, and maintain documentation for data sources, KPIs, and analytical processes to ensure transparency, consistency, and repeatability.
• Support the development and maintenance of standards and best practices for financial data visualization and analytics in the shared service center.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Prepare and present financial analyses to leadership and other senior stakeholders in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
• Serve as a primary analytical point of contact for the organization on financial/operational analytics and optimization ideas.
• Where appropriate, apply advanced analytics to deepen insights and automate portions of the analytical process (e.g., variance analysis, forecasting, anomaly detection).

Basic Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a business‑related field (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Information Systems) with 2 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Formal accounting training (e.g., accounting coursework or practical accounting/financial reporting experience).
• At least 2 years of experience creating data visualizations and KPIs using Alteryx, Tableau, or other advanced analytics tools in a financial/accounting organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex accounting, financial, and operational processes (e.g., ERP/SAP flows, GL and subledger interactions).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage priorities in a dynamic shared services environment.
