Position Overview

The Accountant Analyst applies accounting principles to analyze complex financial data and prepares reports. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reports and analyses. May specialize in areas such as financial analysis, budgeting, planning, and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze diverse account information to support management decisions.
• Conduct economic research on rates of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments.
• Recommend financial actions to management based on analysis.
• Prepare financial statements including balance sheets and income statements.
• Maintain accounting controls and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Reconcile discrepancies and analyze account information.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
• Generate financial reports and interpret data trends.
• Lead or participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; typically 6+ years of experience.
• Experience with power-by-hour contracts and government accounting is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of GAAP, laws, and regulations including CAS and FAR. Proficient with accounting software, spreadsheets, and communication tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to lead projects and mentor others.
