Ackermann Group in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an Accountant to join our team at corporate headquarters. You will perform general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and ad hoc projects for real estate assets and investors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with our Operations Manual.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in accounting/finance with 2–4 years of experience, proficiency in Excel and familiarity with QuickBooks, SAP, or Yardi.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience.
• Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Yardi) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in general accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger maintenance including posting journal entries and cash receipts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities.
• Perform reconciliations for cash, receivables, payables, accruals, intercompany transactions, and lender obligations.
• Communicate results with onsite property management teams.
• Research variances and report accordingly.

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking an Accountant to join our growing team at our corporate headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. As an Accountant at Ackermann Group, you will be responsible for providing general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and ad hoc projects for commercial and multi-family real estate assets and investors. This role monitors and reports on day-to-day accounting and financial transactions and processes related to residential and commercial property management, in accordance with the policies and procedures outlined in the Operations Manual. Additional responsibilites include:

• General Ledger maintenance, including preparing and posting journal entries and cash receipts, identifying and correcting errors in coding or booking
• Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities
• Bi-monthly account reconciliations for cash, receivables, payables, accruals, intercompany transactions, and lender obligations
• Communicating results with onsite property management teams
• Researching variances and reporting accordingly
• Keeping processes on time
• Interacting and collaborating with individuals in all areas of the company
• Representing the Company in a professional manner at all times by consistently maintaining a professional, courteous attitude when dealing with residents, coworkers, and the general public.

The ideal Accountant will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other related field
• 2-4 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Yardi) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
