Job description

Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable, corporate credit card reconciliations, and various other transactional issues. The specialist must exercise discretion, work independently, and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Code invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes following standard procedures for proper entry into the financial system.
  • Perform high-volume data entry efficiently.
  • Prepare check requests, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
  • Reconcile various accounts monthly, addressing discrepancies with the Controller.
  • File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports.
  • Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field (considered an asset).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and processes.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion as needed.
