Job summary

Jefferson Wells in the Philadelphia area is seeking accounting professionals for contract/consulting roles. Most projects are remote, with some hybrid or local assignments to the metro Philadelphia market.

W2 hourly rates range from $50 to $85 per hour, based on experience and client requirements. Responsibilities include close processes, audits, budgeting, and liaison with tax accountants.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA certification preferred or in progress.
• Understanding of GAAP.
• Experience with accounting software/ERP: SAP and NetSuite preferred.
• Advanced MS Excel knowledge including formulas, VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Organize and update financial records as needed.
• Analyze transactions and prepare reports.
• Perform regular audits to ensure accuracy of financial documents and expenditures.
• Forecast revenue and analyze profit margins.
• Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable.
• Participate in budgeting processes.
• Brief senior managers on financial status.
• Liaise with Tax Accountants to track tax payments and returns.

Requirements:

• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Experience with accounting software/ERP systems (SAP and NetSuite preferred)

• Advanced MS Excel knowledge (experience with formulas, VLOOKUPs and pivot tables).
