Your Part-Time Controller LLC (YPTC) is seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to serve nonprofit clients in the Washington, DC area. The role involves processing AP/AR and payroll, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements with analysis, while coordinating with boards and finance committees.

This on-site with hybrid flexibility position offers growth toward a Controller role and exposure to governance and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years in public accounting and/or industry; 5+ years preferred.
• Excellent communication and positive attitude.
• Experience with multiple accounting software; QuickBooks knowledge a plus.
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Willingness to travel to client offices when safe.
• Nonprofit experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Weekly and monthly processing of AP, AR, and payroll.
• Bank reconciliations and balance sheet review.

We are looking for a dedicated, personable, hands-on Staff Accountant seeking a dynamic opportunity to help our clients and provide transformative accounting services. Successful candidates must be comfortable working with multiple clients both virtually and on-site. The Accountant will interact with clients, their staff, Board of Directors, and Finance Committees on a regular basis. This position offers promotion potential to a Controller-level position, to ensure the growth and success of our employees.LI-Hybrid

Responsibilities

• Weekly and monthly processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
• Bank account and balance sheet reconciliations
• Monthlyfinancialsand relatedanalysis
• Granttracking and monitoring
• Cash flow projections and monitoring
• Preparation for outside audits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in public accounting and/or industry; 5+ years preferred
• Outstanding communication skills and positive attitude
• Knowledge of, or interest in learning, multiple accounting software packages; QuickBooks experience is a plus
• Intermediate-level Excel skills
• Willingness to travel to client offices as needed when it is safe to do so
• Nonprofit experience preferred, but not required
• Our part-time employees are expected to work during normal business hours to best serve our clients

Starting annual base salary is $75,000 to $90,000 based on a 35-hour work week for this non-exempt position.Total compensation may increase with overtime pay and eligibility for various bonuses. A professional development reimbursement and technology stipend are also provided on an annual basis.
