Job summary

AM Pierce & Associates is seeking an Accountant, Senior, to support Field Support Activity (FSA) and Navy ERP processes. The role is based in Washington, DC, onsite, and involves enhancing the accounting function for a Budget Submitting Office (BSO).

The candidate should have DoD security clearance, 8+ years in accounting/audit/FIAR, Navy ERP experience, and strong Excel skills. A Bachelor’s degree (or associate with 8 years) is required.

Qualifications

  • Active DoW Secret Clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • ASSOCIATIVE SUBSTITUTIONS: Associate's degree with eight years of experience.
  • 8+ years of accounting, audit, and/or FIAR experience.
  • Navy ERP experience.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel for financial analysis.
  • Self-driven, detail oriented, analytical, and a good communicator.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and develop processes for the accounting department, including Navy ERP.
  • Participate in working groups related to G-Invoicing, BEV, FERMC (UMT, AP AR, IGTs, Tie-Points).
  • Update and maintain standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Perform data analysis related to funding, month end close, year-end close.
  • Compile and review field level journal vouchers.
  • Review and reconcile monthly treasury reports against the general ledger.
  • Understand the behavior and functionality of various general ledger accounts.
  • Review and analyze trial balances for pre-close and post-close analysis.
  • Review and research unmatched transactions.
  • Support other accounting duties as needed.

The Position:

We are looking for an Accountant, Senior, who will be providing support for Field Support Activity (FSA) which is also a Budget Submitting Office (BSO) in the Department of Navy.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000 annually, based upon an individual's level of experience, skillset, and education. The Description:

The successful candidate will work with BSO-11 clients to:

  • Examine/develop processes to support the accounting department to include new processes of Navy ERP.
  • Participate in working groups related to G‑Invoicing, Budget Execution Valuation (BEV), FERMC (UMT, AP AR, IGTs, and Tie‑Points).
  • Update and maintain standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Perform data analysis related to funding, month end close, year‑end close.
  • Perform compilation and review of field level journal vouchers.
  • Review and reconcile monthly treasury reports when compared to the general ledger.
  • Understand the behavior and functionality of various general ledger accounts.
  • Review and analyze trial balances for pre‑close and post‑close analysis.

  • Support other accounting duties as needed.
Education & Experience:
  • Active DoW Secret Clearance, required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent degree.
    • ALLOWABLE SUBSITIUTIONS: Associate's degree with eight (8) years of experience.
  • 8+ years of accounting, audit, and/or Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) experience
  • Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N‑ERP) experience
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills to include performing financial analysis.

Travel:
  • On some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, travel may be required.
