Job summary

True North Advisors seeks an Accountant to support financial operations in a wealth management environment. You will maintain the general ledger, assist with monthly close, and manage client billing and budgeting.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of accounting experience, with QuickBooks and/or Addepar experience, and strong Excel skills. Knowledge of advisory fee billing is a plus and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • At least two years of accounting experience.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or Addepar client billing is required.
  • Experience with advisory fee billing and client invoicing is preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills including reconciliations, formulas, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger and record transactions accurately.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations including cash, prepaids, accruals, and key accounts.
  • Support month-end close and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and process client billing per fee schedules and agreements.
  • Process accounts payable, including invoice coding, approvals, and payments.
  • Track and report on team and individual budgets.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports for management.
  • Support forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Use QuickBooks as the primary accounting system.
  • Use Excel for reconciliations, reporting, and analysis.
  • Follow internal controls and documentation standards for an RIA environment.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory exams as needed.

We are seeking an Accountant to support the financial operations of True North Advisors. In this role, you will maintain accurate accounting records, assist with the monthly closing, manage accounts payable, and support client billing and budget reporting. The ideal candidate has at least two years of accounting experience, including one year using QuickBooks.
