Responsibilities

Are you an experienced accounts receivable professional seeking a fully remote opportunity?

We are partnering with a wholesale consumer products business to find an AR Accountant to manage the receivables cycle for a portfolio of consumer design brands. Operating in a remote environment, this position supports North American operations through cash application, reconciliations, and collections. You will work closely with internal teams while maintaining customer-focused communication to keep cash flowing smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end collections process by following up on past-due balances via phone and email while keeping accounts current.
• Post incoming payments across various methods, apply cash against open invoices, and resolve short pays or discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean aging report, reconcile the accounts receivable sub-ledger, and prepare regular receivables and DSO reporting.
• Support new customer onboarding by evaluating credit risks, setting credit limits, and monitoring ongoing account status.
• Investigate and resolve billing disputes, chargebacks, and deductions in collaboration with commercial, customer service, and logistics teams.
• Assist with month-end close procedures through reconciliations, accrual entries, and financial reporting support.

Must-Have Requirements

• Three or more years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or general accounting within a product, wholesale, or distribution business.
• Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel, numerical analysis, and sub-ledger reconciliations.
• Practical experience leveraging AI tools to optimize daily workflows and increase operational efficiency.
• Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach to resolving billing inquiries.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise accounting software.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Professional fluency in Spanish to support accounts in Mexico or French to support accounts in Canada.
