Neighborhood Health Association (NHA) is seeking an Accountant to assist the Director of Finance, ensure accuracy of accounts, and help prepare monthly financial statements. The role coordinates general accounting functions and supports the Senior Accountant with day-to-day duties.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting with at least two years of accounting experience, familiarity with general ledger systems, payroll, AP/AR, and grants management.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration and/or combination of education and experience is required.
• Minimum two (2) years' experience in a variety of accounting functions.
• Requires a working knowledge of general accounting systems, internal control systems, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and grants management.
• Knowledge of and experience with computers with computerized general ledger software and spreadsheet application experience is required.
• Preferred experience in the health care industry
• Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
• Ability to work independently.

Coordinates the activities of the general accounting functions and prepares monthly financial statements. Assists Senior Accountant in day-to-day accounting job duties.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Preparation of the monthly financial statement package including detailed financial statement analysis; including General Ledger maintenance and analysis.
• Audit accounts and distribute charges
• Records all cash receipts and prepares the cash balance schedules.
• Prepare journal entries, review/install accounting forms, methods, and/or procedures.

This position is Monday – Friday, no weekends or holidays
