Job summary

Teledyne Scientific & Imaging is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our mission-focused team. You will support revenue recognition, internal controls, and management reporting in line with GAAP and company policy, while partnering with Operations on variances and cost analysis.

You will play a key role in audits, journal entries, and period-end close, with opportunities to lead process improvements and efficiency enhancements within a world-class R&D environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation and analysis.
• Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and internal controls.
• Familiarity with government contract compliance, FAR, and CAS regulations (preferred).
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint, TM1, and OneStream (a plus).
• U.S. Citizenship required due to facility access and work restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze inventory usage and purchasing variances; partner with Operations to identify root causes.
• Reconcile inventory subledger to the general ledger and recommend COGS adjustments as needed.
• Prepare period cost reserves, E&O analyses, and related journal entries.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and prepare quarterly financial variance explanations.
• Lead and participate in audits, tax packs, surveys, and physical inventory counts.
• Contribute to special projects focused on process improvement, efficiency, and profitability.
