Job summary

Cardone Ventures in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking an Accountant to oversee general accounting operations for our clients. You will prepare financial reports, perform research, maintain the general ledger, and perform month-end close procedures.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and at least five years of general accounting experience, with GAAP knowledge and proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online.

Responsibilities

• Complete accurate and timely month-end close processes.
• Ensure GAAP compliance across all activities.
• Process daily transactions and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial statements for clients.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger monthly.
• Improve internal controls with stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation for accounting procedures.
• Ensure client books close by the 15th of each month.
• Support and guide accounting staff.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Accountant will oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions for our clients. Accountants prepare financial reports, perform research and analysis, maintain the general ledger, perform account reconciliations and month-end procedures. The ideal stakeholder has a general understanding and experience in all areas of the accounting cycle.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Maintaining their full book of business and ensuring YoY renewals because of the value being driven by 10X FS
• Ensuring that clients have a clear vision into their financials to make strategic decisions through the work done by 10X FS

OBJECTIVES

• Complete accurate and timely month-end close processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies in all accounting activities
• Transactions cleared daily for soft reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements for accuracy and completeness
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, balance sheets and General Ledger on a monthly basis
• Implement and improve internal controls with internal stakeholder
• Provide guidance and support to accounting staff
• Develop and maintain documentation for accounting procedures
• Manage the chart of accounts to ensure proper classification of transactions
• Ensure that all clients in the book of business financials are closed by the 15th
• Retain 90% client retention year over year due to providing extraordinary results
• Hold client calls based on the clients scope of work
• Perform peer reviews of clients financials within our department

COMPETENCIES

• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks Online
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Time management including prioritization, planning, delegation, and problem solving
• Possess effective communication skills in order to describe accounting principals in a way that our clients can implement
• Ability to create a correction strategy to allow our Clients financials to reflect the story of the business

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• 5+ years of general accounting experience
