Job summary

Janie and Jack is seeking a detail-driven accounting professional to join our San Francisco team on a contract-to-hire basis. You will support month-end close, prepare journal entries, and perform reconciliations in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 1–2 years of general ledger experience, and strong Excel skills. Big 4 experience is a plus and you will contribute to process improvements and reporting for audits.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
• 1-2 years of general ledger experience.
• Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, sum-ifs, formatting worksheets, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong communicative skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to prioritize assignments to meet critical deadlines.
• Big 4 Accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and related supporting schedules.
• Assist with month-end close procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and flux analysis.
• Support documentation requests for financial reporting and audit.
• Assist with identifying and implementing process improvements.
• Help establish and maintain financial policies and procedures to support new business activities and new reporting requirements.
• Perform special ad-hoc projects as needed.

About The Job

This position will support the accounting team with timely completion of month-end close procedures, such as journal entries and reconciliations and reports. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and positivity in a fast-paced environment and will embrace new challenges as learning opportunities.

This role is hybrid onsite in our San Francisco, CA office .
