Summary
Assists in maintaining the accounts and books of the company and preparing daily and monthly journal entries and financial reports. Assists in maintaining the company's electronic ledger systems and supports the department in providing various account reconciliations.
Responsibilities
Analyzes financial transactions to ensure conformity and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Reconciles daily cash reports, cash receipts, and bank statements.
- Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of account balances.
- Conducts financial analysis to support strategic initiatives.
- Prepares year-end schedules as needed.
- Adheres to health information privacy guidelines and policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Collaborates with departments as a finance resource.
- Prepares monthly variance analyses of organizational metrics.
- Analyzes financial results, monitors variances, and recommends actions to stakeholders.
Other Information
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related field.
- At least one year of experience in accounting/finance.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Principles of accounting and financial operations.
- Basic management information systems; experience with PeopleSoft is a plus.
- Knowledge of accrual and cash basis accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Strong financial data analysis skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and think critically.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or in teams.
- Understanding of financial documents and reports.
