Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings is seeking a detail-oriented finance professional for an on-site role in Warren, MI. You will collaborate with managers and report to the Segment Group Controller, preparing monthly financial packages and leading monthly reporting with reconciliations and in-depth analysis.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of GL experience, solid US GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a company with a robust internal control environment.
• 2-5 years of general ledger and financial reporting experience, preferably in a multi-entity and multi-location organization.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP principles.
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Experience with multiple ERP and accounting systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial packages for subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage monthly financial reporting, including account reconciliations and detailed financial analysis.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities to support strategic decision-making.
• Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Assist in maintaining and improving internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX and company policies.
• Understand a cost model that lives within multiple systems.

This position is fully onsite Monday through Friday in Warren, MI.

What We’re Looking For:
