YMCA of Northwest North Carolina seeks an Accountant to support general accounting functions under the Controller. Responsibilities include AP/AR processing, cash receipts, vendor management, and fixed asset accounting. The role requires strong Excel skills and attention to detail within a nonprofit setting.

• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.

Responsabilidades

• Export, reformat, and import financial data weekly into the accounting system.
• Support Accounts Payable: vendor setup, 1099s, escheats.
• Support Accounts Receivable: post cash receipts, deposits, collections.
• Maintain fixed asset records; process depreciation and CI-P entries.
• Prepare correcting journal entries and monthly close tasks.
• Assist with annual audit and other duties as assigned.

Under the direction of the Controller, this position is responsible for general accounting functions, including accounts payable vendor management, accounts receivable and cash receipts processing, and fixed asset accounting.**Essential Functions*** Exports financial data and transactions from source systems, reformats, and imports into the accounting system on a weekly basis. Researches account issues, evaluates data to determine appropriate revenue recognition and/or accounting period, and prepares journal entries as needed.* Supports Accounts Payable by managing vendor setup and assisting with 1099s and escheats.* Supports Accounts Receivable / Cash Receipts by posting cash receipts into the accounting system, making bank deposits, and assisting with collections as needed.* Maintains fixed asset records, prepares and processes journal entries for reclassifications, asset clearing, depreciation, and construction-in-progress.* Prepares correcting journal entries and completes assigned reconciliations and monthly financial closing tasks.* Assists with the annual audit process.* Other duties and special projects as assigned.**Child Abuse Prevention and Reporting**At our Association, safeguarding children is everyone's responsibility, regardless of role or position.
