Summary

Rails is looking for an experienced Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. This position will be responsible for the daily accounting activities of the business and assist with the monthly financial close process and various reporting as needed.

The Accountant will report to the Senior Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Support the monthly financial close process by preparing timely and accurate month-end journal entries as directed.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Ensure the accuracy of revenue, cost of goods sold, and inventory reporting by performing detailed reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
  • Prepare and provide reporting on sales, including profit and loss statements, variance explanations, and KPIs as needed.
  • Evaluate the general ledger to determine missing transactions and accruals.
  • Work with international tax partners to provide all necessary data for income tax, local sales tax, and general business filings.
  • Assist the Senior Accounting Manager in maintaining accurate records for various areas such as credit cards, fixed assets, and deferred revenue.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required, CPA a plus
  • 3-4 years previous experience in accounting required
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and Cost Accounting
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
  • Multi-location retail and/or fashion industry experience a plus
  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills in reviewing accounting transactions
  • Must be able to maintain an onsite presence at our Los Angeles office 4 days out of the week
