Job summary

Head Start for Kent County is seeking an Accountant to perform a range of accounting duties in the Fiscal Department, including payroll processing, accounts payable, and internal policy compliance. The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and collaboration with staff to support continuous program improvement.

You will help train staff on internal policies, assist in development and monitoring of procedures, and process payroll-related liabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Payroll or other accounting experience preferred, especially with a non-profit agency.

Position Overview

Performs various accounting duties within the fiscal department of HS4KC. Duties include but are not limited to processing payroll, accounts payable and support services to the Fiscal Department. Works cooperatively with other staff in an environment of continuous program improvement. Assists in developing, promoting, and monitoring internal policies and procedures for compliance. Acts as a resource for training staff on internal policies and procedures.

Requirements

Base Pay
  • $25.67 – $30.13
Hours & Location
  • Mon-Fri
    • Hours may vary, but should be similar to: Mon-Thurs [7:30am-5:00pm] & Fri [7:30am-11:30am]
