Job summary

Blue Ridge Automation, headquartered in Indiana, seeks a Staff Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, project cost tracking, and financial reporting. You will work with leadership and project managers to maintain the general ledger, oversee payables/receivables, support budgeting, and ensure tax compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a project-based, manufacturing, or automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a closely held business.
• Project accounting experience in industrial engineering, automation, or project-based environments.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and experience with job costing, revenue recognition, and project tracking.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries and accruals, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and support day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Track project costs and revenues, review project-related time and expense activity, and partner with project managers on budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support compliance with tax, reporting, and internal control requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting and project finance processes and assist with system enhancements or software implementation as needed.

Job Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations while supporting accurate project cost tracking and financial reporting across the business. This role works closely with leadership and project managers to maintain the general ledger, oversee accounts payable and receivable, support budgeting and forecasting, and help ensure compliance with financial and tax requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, experience with project-based environments, and a proactive mindset for improving processes and supporting business growth.

Job Details

• Position Type: Full-time, direct hire
• Location: Pendleton, Indiana (on-site)
• Compensation: $75,000-$85,000
• Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience preferred

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across departments
