Job summary

Seminole Hard Rock Northern Indiana is seeking a contractor who will provide timely and accurate financial information, maintain integrity of accounting records, and support multiple departments. Key duties include daily cash management, monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of Fixed Asset Accounting (FAS) and chart of accounts.

You will assist with monthly close training, filing requirements, SOP creation, and ensure compliance with Federal, State and Indiana Gaming

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in accounting or equivalent.
• Three or more years in cash management and fixed asset accounting.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain daily cash activities, transfers, and banking functions.
• Prepare monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain Fixed Asset Accounting (FAS) system.
• Maintain Company's Chart of Accounts and Indiana Gaming Regulations compliance.
• Assist monthly close training and reconciliation of G/L accounts.

Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The incumbent in this position is a contractor who is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial information for internal and external use, maintaining and ascertaining the integrity of accounting records for the purpose of compiling, reconciling, adjusting and/or reclassifying accounting and operational information. This position is responsible for analyzing assigned balance sheet accounts and maintaining respective account folders. Incumbents in this position are assigned to various departments and are responsible for specialized familiarity with the operations and financial statements of the assigned departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)

• Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Northern Indiana their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
• Responsible for Daily Cash Management Activities which include updating daily bank activity; transferring funds between accounts; paying various expenses; preparing deposits for the bank and maintain all banking functions for operational purposes.
• Responsible for preparation of Monthly Bank and Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation.
• Responsible for maintenance of Fixed Asset Accounting (FAS) System.
• Responsible for maintenance of Company's Chart of Accounts. Adheres to all Indiana Gaming Regulations.
• Assist with training team on accounting procedures related to monthly close, reporting, compilation of future Consolidated Financial statements and filings and on reconciliation of accounting G/L accounts.
• Create SOP and assist with the process of filing documentation requirements (i.e. items needed for tax purposes, bank compliance, etc.).

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

• Four-year degree in accounting. Three or more years of experience in cash management and fixed asset accounting activities.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

• Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.
• Must successfully pass background check.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data and casino policies.
• Must successfully pass drug screening.
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• The Gaming industry, including principles and practices of a capital and operations budget.
• Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases to include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Sound interpersonal judgment and decision-making skills
• Financial systems and proficiency with spreadsheet software.
• 10-Key calculator.
