Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Accountant to support the Oil & Gas team, performing accounting functions, preparation, analysis, and communication of complex issues.

You will lead actuals reporting and forecasting, collaborate with the business, and help drive financial performance across the segment. The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience with financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the business to provide insights and analyze results to improve financial performance
  • Facilitate results meetings to drive accountability and close performance gaps
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting for the Oil & Gas Power Systems business
  • Drive standardization and efficiencies in finance processes
  • Coordinate reporting and analysis of non-financial metrics
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment including Sox documentation

As an Accountant supporting the Caterpillar Oil and Gas team, you will independently perform accounting functions which require preparation, analysis and communication of issues of normal to high complexity that support Caterpillar business processes. In addition, you will lead actuals reporting and forecasting for the Caterpillar Oil & Gas core business.

What You Will Do:
  • Partner with the business, through providing meaningful and timely insights & analysis, to understand results and drive improved financial performance
  • Drive accountability to achieve financial targets through facilitation of results meetings identifying performance gaps and actions to close
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the Oil & Gas Power Systems business
  • Drive standardization, simplification and efficiencies in finance processes
  • Coordinate reporting and analysis of non-financial metrics
  • Champion a strong internal control environment, including maintenance of Sox documentation
What You Have:
  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
  • Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports

Summary Pay Range: $112,710.00 - $169,060.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
