Job summary

PCL Industrial Construction Co. in Houston, Texas, is looking for an Accountant to support daily accounting activities, analyze data and contribute to accurate, timely reporting within US PICCo.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree asset.
• Some student experience or 6–12 months in accounting preferred.
• Familiarity with forecasting, budgeting and cost accounting.
• Understanding of ledgers, cash flows and basic principles.
• Exposure to subcontract terms, insurance and lien rights is a plus.
• Proficient with MS Office and accounting software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical and data entry to meet contractual requirements.
• Processes all accounts payable in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provides ad hoc reports and analysis for project teams.
• Assists with information for internal and external financial reporting.
• Assembles client billings packages and ensures timely payments.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical and data entry support to meet contractual requirements for operational and basic accounting.
• Processes all accounts payable and accounts received in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provides project teams with ad hoc reports and analysis as the need arises.
• Assists with the assembly of information for internal and external financial reporting requirements.
• Assembles client billings packages in accordance with contract terms and conditions and ensures timely payment.
• Prepares bank deposits and cash receipt entries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset.
• Some student experience or 6 months to 1 year of accounting or administrative experience is preferred.
• Exposure to project forecasting and budgeting.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, including maintenance of ledgers and cash flows.
• Exposure to project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract/subcontract requirements as related to accounting
• Exposure to subcontract purchase order terms, including insurance and subcontractor default insurance requirements.
• Basic understanding of lien rights.
• Ability to act with the required discretion when handling confidential information.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software is an asset.
