Job summary

Ellison, a food solutions partner, is seeking a talented accounting professional to join our Fort Wayne team. The role focuses on general accounting, journal entries, and maintaining the GL.

You will support month-end closes, reconciliations, audits, and financial reporting, while ensuring internal controls and accurate documentation. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in accounting or finance with 2–4 years of manufacturing accounting experience and strong GAAP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, manufacturing preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
• Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations monthly and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare recurring reports and analyses for management.
• Support internal and external financial statements and audit responses.

Position location: Chaska, MN or Fort Wayne sites, Will consider remote in central or eastern time zones.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting

• Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with GAAP
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

Account Reconciliations

• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain proper documentation to support all reconciliations

Audit Support

• Coordinate with external auditors during year-end audit
• Prepare audit schedules and provide requested supporting documentation
• Assist in implementing audit recommendations and improvements

Financial Reporting

• Prepare recurring financial reports and analysis for management
• Assist in variance analysis and explanation of key drivers
• Support preparation of internal and external financial statements

Process & Control

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency
• Support documentation and standardization of accounting procedures

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–4 years of accounting experience (public accounting or manufacturing experience preferred)
