Job summary

Segrera Associates is seeking an Accountant in Fort Lauderdale, FL for a role that is onsite for the first six months and transitions to one day remote per week. The position involves hands-on day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger activities, with emphasis on processing AP, AR, and payroll.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of GL experience and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance and month-end close.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
• Assist with financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal statements.
• Support cost tracking and detailed operational financial reporting.
• Partner with leadership for financial insights and variance analysis.
• Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure proper transaction coding and data integrity.
• Maintain compliance with accounting policies and support process improvements.

Job description

We are working with a client in Fort Lauderdale, FL that is looking for a Accountant to join their team. This role is fully onsite the first 6 months then will transition to 1 day remote.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role and is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate must be willing to be hands-on with processing AP, AR, and payroll. Strong GL experience is ideal, but only required for Senior Accountant-level consideration. The ideal candidate brings a strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a hands-on approach to core accounting functions.

Accountant Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end close activities
• Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Assists with financial reporting, account reconciliations, and preparation of internal financial statements
• Supports cost tracking and financial reporting at a detailed operational level as applicable
• Partners with leadership to provide financial insights, variance analysis, and operational support
• Works cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure proper coding of transactions and accurate financial data
• Maintains compliance with internal accounting policies and supports ongoing process improvements
• Minimum of 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience required for Accountant-level consideration
• Experience supporting high-volume accounting environments strongly preferredi
• Prior exposure to AP, AR, and payroll processes required
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred
