Job summary

Wow Bao is seeking an Accountant to join ourChicago team. The role focuses on maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end close in a fast-paced environment.

Onsite five days a week at our River North office, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to accurate financial data across our growing omni-channel brand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required or preferred.
• CPA or pursuing CPA is a plus.
• Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) or manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Validate deductions passed on by distributors.
• Process invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Conduct monthly inventory counts and track inventory levels.
• Handle prepaid expenses and accruals.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with restaurant accounting and reporting.
• Process employee expense reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data.
• Be available to assist with offsite events as needed.

Wow Bao is searching for an Accountant to join the team! The Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities and other related financial activities. Responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. This role is onsite five days a week in our Chicago (River North) office.

Be available to assist and work during Wow Bao offsite events such as Lollapalooza, National Bao Eating Contest, National Bao Day and other events as needed
Multitask calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment
Follow all rules, policies, and procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook
Other duties will be assigned as needed

Required Experience/Skills:

Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
1 year experience as an accountant or relevant internship experience
CPA or pursuing a CPA a plus!
Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) and/or manufacturing industry preferred
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Experience with Restaurant365 a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Partake in a professional and positive work environment
