Job summary

HSP US is seeking an Accountant to build and maintain the financial foundation of a growing manufacturing operation in the US. You will ensure accuracy of records, support month-end close, manage core accounting processes, and deliver financial insights to leaders across operations, procurement, order management, and corporate finance.

You will work with SAP S4/HANA FI/CO, ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance, and contribute to internal controls and SOX-ready documentation as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience in manufacturing or production
  • S4/HANA FI/CO proficiency with hands-on experience
  • IFRS and GAAP knowledge with tax accounting
  • Full month-end close experience in a high-volume environment
  • Strong internal controls mindset focused on data integrity
  • Willingness to work across time zones with international teams (Germany/Canada)
  • Audit support experience preferred
  • BI/ETL exposure (Tableau, VBA, Python) a plus

As an Accountant, you play a critical role in building and maintaining the financial foundation of our growing manufacturing operation. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting month‑end close activities, managing key accounting processes, and providing meaningful financial insights to business leaders. Working closely with operations, procurement, order management, and corporate finance teams, you'll help drive financial accuracy, maintain strong internal controls, and support informed decision‑making across the organization. What We Are Looking For!
  • Financial Accounting &Closing: Drivethe monthly closing process to meet close deadlines. Own the integrity ofthe general ledger, coordinating proactively with responsible parties ofrelevant subledgers (A/P, A/R, fixed assets, inventory) to identify,research, and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies in a timelymanner.
  • Fixed assets & InventoryControl: Supportstandard cost rollups, variance analysis, and inventory valuationprocesses. Actively manage fixed asset accounting, includingConstruction-in-Progress (CIP) tracking, depreciation schedules,capitalization, and asset disposal.
  • Intercompany Accounting &Reconciliation:Maintain accurate intercompany balances, prepare reconciliations acrossrelated entities, and ensure alignment with HQ in Germany and Canada.Support intercompany transactions, including loan accounting, andcross-entity charges.
  • Systems & Compliance: Participate in and support theongoing SAP S4/HANA enhancements, ensuring correct accountingconfiguration and control alignment. Maintain financial data integrity withinthe SAP S4/HANA system. Ensure all accounting practices adhere strictly toGAAP and IFRS where applicable.
  • Internal Controls: Design, execute, and documentinternal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) relevant to A/P, A/R,fixed assets, and inventory. Perform periodic control self-assessments,maintain SOX-ready documentation (if applicable), and elevate controlgaps or exceptions to the Head of Finance.
  • Tax & External Liaison: Act as the primary liaison fortax-related tasks, owning the communication process with external taxconsultants and internal corporate teams. Assist in preparingdocumentation for external audit requests.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations: Prepare and review monthlybalance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring all open items are clearedor explained within policy timelines.
  • Order Management & RevenueAccounting: Collaborate closely with the Order Management and Sales teams to ensureaccurate billing and revenue recognition.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement processimprovements and control setups across A/R, A/P, depreciation schedules,and profit center/cost center (CC) structure.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Support the department in building basic visibility tools (Excel or Power BI) for tracking plant performance and cost variances.
What You Will Bring!
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands‑on,progressive accounting experience, ideally within the manufacturing or productionsector.
  • Systems Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in SAPS4/HANA (This is mandatory) with hands‑on experience in FI/CO.
  • Accounting Foundation: Solid understanding of IFRSwith proven knowledge in revenue recognition and tax‑related accounting principles.
  • Closing Proficiency: Proven ability to execute fullmonth‑end closes in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
  • Mindset: Ability to thrive in astart‑up-like environment where processes are still forming. Must possessa strong internal controls mindset focused on controls rigor, and dataintegrity.
  • Global Acumen: Willingness to accommodatedifferent time zones and work closely with international teams (mostlyGermany). IFRS knowledge is preferred.
  • Growth Potential: Experience in processimprovement, financial analysis, or exposure to BI/ETL tools (e.g., Tableau,VBA, Python) is a plus.
  • Audit Experience: Prior experience supportingexternal financial audits is preferred.
