Job description

The City of Bennettsville has an opening in the Finance Department for an Accountant. Recommends an associate’s degree supplemented by a minimum of 1 year of experience in a job-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent with major coursework in accounting with a minimum of 2 years previous experience in municipal government accounting preferred.

Thorough knowledge of laws, ordinances, and regulations governing municipal financial matters, ability to prepare, analyze, and evaluate financial systems, and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Must possess a valid SC Driver’s License.

The starting salary for this position is $50,000 - $55,000/yr.
