Job summary

Americold is seeking a detail-oriented accountant to join our finance team in Atlanta. You will oversee end-to-end general ledger processes, prepare monthly journal entries, and perform balance sheet reconciliations.

The role requires collaboration with corporate and field teams to build budgets and forecasts, plus variance analysis and internal controls. Ideal candidates have 1 year of accounting experience and a BA in Accounting.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Accounting experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
• Experience with major ERP systems required.

Responsibilities

• Execute general ledger accounting processes from end-to-end, including preparation of monthly journal entries.
• Conduct reviews and reconciliations of monthly balance sheet accounts, with a focus on cash reconciliations.
• Serve as liaison between corporate headquarters and geographically distributed assigned sites.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to develop budgets and forecasts and perform variance analyses.
• Analyze financial data and problem-solve related to assigned areas and accounts.
• Execute key internal controls and support auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audit.
• Assist with special projects such as accounting research and integration of newly acquired facilities.
• Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.
