Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage is seeking an Accountant for a HYBRID role reporting to the Accounting Manager. Responsibilities include monthly closes for ~20 properties, internal controls, treasury, and reporting. Hybrid schedule: in-office Tue–Thu, work-from-home Mon & Fri.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related experience, GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel skills. Great Plains experience is a plus, with competitive salary and benefits.

• Analyze budget vs actual results and report variances.

• Compile monthly reporting package for each property.
• Perform other accounting responsibilities and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Salary: starting at $73,000/yr depending on experience + annual discretionary bonus

Location: Hybrid once fully trained - Monday & Friday work from home; Tuesday - Thursday in-office at our beautiful corporate office in Ladera Ranch, CA

Accountant Job Summary - HYBRID

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, our Accountants are responsible for the monthly property financial statement close process for approximately 20 self-storage properties, maintaining internal controls, treasury, and internal reporting. This is a hybrid position once fully trained: Tues thru Thurs in office; Mon & Fri work from home.
