Position Overview

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire an Account TechnicianI for the Madden Mental Health Center located in Hines, Illinois to coordinate the payroll functions. Verifies all payroll input conforms with union contracts, personnelrules, and DHS policies. Calculating and processing payroll adjustments. Performsrandom on-site audits for each Timekeeping Group. Enters all pertinent informationin a timely and accurate manner into the Payroll System.

Essential Functions

• Performs technical accounting payroll functions for the Madden Mental HealthCenter, verifying payroll input conforms with union contracts, personnelrules, andDepartment of Human Services (DHS) policies.
• Coordinates and reviews MHF-183B’s (Schedule Change Form) for accuracy andcompliance with policy and procedures.
• Keyboards all pertinent information in a timely and accurate manner into thePayroll System.
• Function independently with established guidelines and work directly withother departments within the facility and the Department of Human Services CentralPayroll Office.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably withinthe scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completionof two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course or three(3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
• Qualifying state employees in the Upward Mobility Program may complete combinationsof specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiencyin lieu of the stated requirements for this class.

• Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
• Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
