Job summary

Baldwin Supply Company in Minnesota is seeking an outside sales representative to drive revenue by acquiring new customers and managing existing relationships in an assigned territory. You will conduct in-person meetings, product demonstrations, and presentations, frequently visiting client sites to understand needs and close deals.

The ideal candidate will have proven outside sales experience in industrial markets, strong communication skills, and the ability to develop strategic relationships

Qualifications

• Outside sales experience in industrial markets is preferred.
• Proven ability to develop new business and manage a territory.
• Strong client relationship skills and a track record of growth.

Responsibilities

• Promote Baldwin’s power transmission, conveyor belting, electric motor, automation and industrial supply products.
• Identify target prospects and create strategic plans to convert prospects to customers.
• Build and sustain strong, long‑lasting customer relationships.
• Coordinate with product specialists and inside sales to manage current and secure new business.
• Maintain professional relationships with strategic suppliers to Baldwin.
• Participate in company-sponsored sales and technical training sessions.
• Meet with assigned customers at their facilities and promote Baldwin’s value and solutions.
• Prospect for new customers and sell products best suited to their needs.
• Compete against competitors at existing accounts and grow market share.

Job Summary

The outside sales rep is a field-based professional responsible for driving revenue by acquiring new customers and managing existing relationships within an assigned territory. They conduct in-person meetings, product demonstrations, and presentations, frequently traveling to client sites to understand their needs, close deals, and meet sales quotas.

• Promote power transmission, conveyor belting, electric motor, automation and industrial supply products from Baldwin. Recommend products and services with the best combination of performance and cost based on customer requirements
• Identify target prospects and create strategic plans to turn prospects into customers
• Build and sustain strong, long lasting customer relationships
• Constantly promote Baldwin’s value by providing best in class customer service and technical expertise
• Coordinate with product specialists and inside sales team to efficiently manage current business and secure new business
• Maintain professional working relationships with strategic suppliers to Baldwin
• Participate in company-sponsored sales and technical training sessions
• 30% - Meet with assigned customers at their facilities. Constantly promote Baldwin’s value by providing best in class customer service and technical expertise. Promote power transmission, conveyor belting, electric motor, automation and industrial supply products from Baldwin. Recommend products and services with the best combination of performance and cost based on customer requirements.
• 20% - Prospect for new customers. Find the right people to meet with. Sell them products and services best suited for their needs.
• 20% - Compete against competitors at existing accounts. Take their share of business at those accounts.
• 20% - Coordinate with product specialists and inside sales at Baldwin to efficiently manage current business and secure new business. Maintain professional working relationships with strategic suppliers to Baldwin.
• 10% - Continuous training for technical expertise. Target best in class products, services, and application/industry knowledge. Continuous training for best in class selling strategies and tactics.

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or GED. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Supply or Business
• Industrial Sales- 5 years experience preferred

Required Skills/Abilities

• Demonstrated success in outside sales, industrial sales experience a plus
• Proven experience and success in developing new business, building repeat business, and managing a sales territory
• Established client relationships in industrial markets
• Strong desire to achieve and succeed
• Competitive mindset with a passion to solve problems
• Mechanical aptitude
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in CRM software, and digital communication tools (email, video chat)
• Strong computer skills
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
