Position Summary

The Laboratory Account & Program Manager – Transformer Laboratory Services (TLS) owns the day-to-day relationship with RESA Power’s laboratory customers. This role keeps customers on their recurring sampling schedules, reviews laboratory reports for findings that call for follow-up, and turns those findings into retests, additional testing, field services, and products. The primary goals are customer retention and growth within existing accounts.

This position works closely with laboratory operations, project managers, field service teams, and RESA sales representatives, locations, and leaders to expand the laboratory’s relationship with customers, including additional sites and services. The role also handles quoting, order entry, and customer coordination so work moves accurately from quote to scheduled job to invoice.

This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. The position offers a potential path to an Outside Sales role for candidates who demonstrate the ability to source new business and support customers at a more technical level.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively contact assigned customers ahead of their annual, semiannual, quarterly, or other recurring sampling due dates to confirm schedules, secure purchase orders, and get sampling booked.
  • Use the laboratory’s due-date tracking tools and systems to identify customers who are due, overdue, or lapsed, and follow up until each is scheduled or closed out.
  • Review laboratory reports for flagged or abnormal results and contact customers to recommend appropriate next steps, such as retests, increased sampling frequency, additional diagnostic testing, or field services.
  • Track report-driven follow-ups from first customer contact through quote, scheduled work, and completion.
  • Serve as account manager for assigned key accounts, including regular proactive check-ins, account reviews, and timely resolution of customer questions and concerns.
  • Grow existing accounts by recommending other products and services within RESA Power’s portfolio, including field oil sampling, Sample Guard enclosures, inhibitor additions, top-offs, and other transformer services.
  • Build relationships with customer site contacts to learn about the customer’s other facilities and equipment, and work to bring additional sites under RESA Power’s laboratory services.
  • Re-engage former and lapsed laboratory customers.
  • Partner with RESA Power sales representatives, locations, and leaders to identify and win laboratory work, including support for commissioning-to-monitoring handoffs on new projects.
  • Source new laboratory customers as opportunities arise, with growing responsibility for new business development over time.
  • Prepare and enter quotes, customer orders, and opportunities accurately and on time in RESA Power’s systems, including CRM, Relay Desk, and laboratory systems.
  • Obtain purchase orders and method of payment from customers and confirm billing details are complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate with project managers, field service teams, and laboratory staff to schedule sampling and field work as needed.
  • Support Accounts Receivable by contacting customers about past-due invoices when requested.
  • Keep customer records, contacts, and account notes current so account history is clear to the team.
  • Communicate laboratory results, turnaround times, and service expectations clearly and professionally; elevate complex technical questions to the laboratory’s technical staff.
  • Represent RESA Power at customer meetings, RESA Power locations, and industry events as needed.
  • Conduct all work and decisions in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, company policies, safety expectations, and RESA Power’s core values.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience And Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical, scientific, or business field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in transformer oil testing, transformer services, electrical testing, condition monitoring, or technical customer support or sales in the power industry.
  • Working knowledge of transformers and transformer oil diagnostics strongly preferred, including the purpose of routine tests such as dissolved gas analysis (DGA), moisture, dielectric breakdown, and oil quality testing.
  • Ability to read laboratory reports, recognize flagged or abnormal results, and explain recommended next steps in plain language.
  • Candidates with a solid base understanding of transformers and the value of oil analysis will be considered; training in laboratory diagnostics will be provided.
