Job summary

Puffer-Sweiven in Houston, TX is seeking an Account Manager - RQ to identify and evaluate customer needs, develop account plans, and promote Rotating Equipment products such as centrifugal pumps, blowers, compressors, and integrated pump packages.

You will build relationships with Engineering, Purchasing and Maintenance teams, conduct product demonstrations, support sales forecasting, and contribute to pricing and margins.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA Degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
  • Basic knowledge of the oil & gas industry and pumping systems.
  • 3-5 years technical sales/customer service experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and evaluates customer needs and offers appropriate solutions.
  • Works under the direction of the Sales Manager to develop the account plan.
  • Promotes Rotating Equipment products and services to customers including centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, blowers, compressors and packages.
  • Interfaces with management, inside sales and other account teams to communicate activities, opportunities, issues, and goals.
  • Develops and maintains customer relationships.
  • Attends technical conferences and product training sessions.
  • Establishes relationships with Engineering, Purchasing, Maintenance and other key decision makers.
  • Conducts product demonstrations and technical presentations.
  • Provides technical assistance to other Sales and Operations personnel.
  • Presents and specifies products for varied applications and determines specifications.
  • H elps develop sales forecast and strategy to accomplish goal.
  • Provides input and feedback relative to pricing and sales margins.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Knowledge
  • BS/BA Degree in Business or Engineering related disciplines. Alternative AS/AA degree and two plus years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical degrees are preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of the oil & gas industry - up, mid and downstream. Solid knowledge of basic hydraulic principles and pumping systems and related equipment.
Experience/Skills
  • 3-5 Years technical sales/customer service experience required including experience of prospecting, cold calling, and presentations to customers.
  • Good Computer skill proficiency with MS Office and Outlook.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including formal presentation skills.
  • Solid interpersonal skills; specifically engaged listening and acknowledging skills, as well as questioning and discovery skills.
