Brown & Brown is seeking a Personal Lines Account Manager to join our growing team in Bend, OR.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer’s lost exposures and determine coverage needs
- Generate annual revenue (commission) through cross-selling, account rounding, and new business
- Meet or exceed annual department retention goals
- Prepare proposals and meet with customers to present recommendations
- Assist customers with day-to-day questions, coverage changes, billing issues, etc.
- Generate documents and produce correspondence including summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals
- Update and run account and policy information including claims in agency management system, AMS
- Take initial loss information and report claims to carrier in a timely manner
- Complete all policies and underwriting specifications on accounts; prepare all accompanying documentation and analysis
- Prepare policy renewals and endorsements, account updating, and billing
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and carriers through phone calls, personal meetings, seminars, etc.
Licenses and Certifications
- Must have and maintain a current Property & Casualty License for the State of Oregon and/or resident state.
- Enroll in CISR/CIC Designation Program when required by Management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent with minimum one (1) year of experience as a Personal Lines Agent, or high school graduate with a minimum of four years’ experience as a Personal Lines Agent; other combinations of work and/or education will be considered.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of personal lines coverage, forms, and contract language
- Familiarity with computerized rating programs
- Basic understanding of company underwriting guidelines
- Fluent with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
- AMS360 experience or ability to learn software program at an accelerated rate
- Exceptional telephone demeanor
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality
