The Opportunity

Abbott’s Cardiometabolic sales team has an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager - Midwest. The territory includes S. IN, W. KY, and S. IL.

The AM will manage ARDx’s Cardiometabolic (CM) product portfolio, targeting physician offices, hospital accounts, corporate wellness, and IDNs. The focus is on point-of-care diagnostic testing with our Afinion (HbA1C and ACR) and Cholestech LDX (cholesterol, lipids, and glucose) analyzers. The role involves working with Technical Consultants (TCs) and Enterprise Account Managers (EAMs), achieving sales objectives, and developing relationships with distributors and end users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and capitalize on sales opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain business and client relationships.
  • Strategically develop POC sales opportunities.
  • Implement sales, marketing, and account programs as directed.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge.
  • Support regional growth by understanding team objectives.
  • Assist with complex sales using technical expertise.
  • Meet sales goals and manage territory budget.
  • Manage distributor sales force, train, and develop them.
  • Support distribution partners with training, sales meetings, and marketing.
  • Handle contract negotiations, pricing, proposals, and customer follow-up.
  • Resolve customer issues related to sales.
Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS in sales, marketing, business management, or life sciences.
  • 6+ years’ experience in medical diagnostics or B2B sales.
  • Experience working with distribution partners.
  • Strong sales techniques and methodologies knowledge.
  • Proven success in sales strategy execution.
  • Experience selling POC/capital equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Contract negotiation experience.
  • Background in complex/strategic selling.
  • Experience balancing multiple stakeholders.

The base pay ranges from $66,700 to $133,300, with variations depending on location. This position is remote in the United States, with 50% travel expected. Medical surveillance is not applicable. The role involves driving a personal or company vehicle and keyboard use for over 50% of the workday.
