Work Arrangements: This role features a Hybrid work setup, requiring in-office presence (Scottsdale, AZ; Chicago, IL; New York City, NY; NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Frisco, TX, etc.) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Remote work may be available for highly qualified candidates not near a business center, supporting West Coast hours.

Position Overview: The Account Manager, part of Global Specialty Operations, is a vital partner to the Excess Casualty and Primary Casualty Wholesale underwriting teams. The role focuses on service experience and book management, acting as a key contact for agents and brokers. It is an individual contributor role without supervisory duties, requiring strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. The work varies from routine tasks to complex analytical assignments, with some project work as needed.

Responsibilities:

  1. Renewal and loss analysis; prepare accounts for renewal quotes.
  2. Prepare and issue Binders, Policies, Endorsements; follow up on missing subjectivities.
  3. Perform rating analysis for renewals and underwriting considerations.
  4. Review endorsement requests; escalate issues; process endorsements.
  5. Analyze underlying policies for each Excess account; coordinate with Underwriters.
  6. Serve as a primary contact for brokers, ensuring excellent customer service.
  7. Maintain compliance standards and accurate account documentation.
  8. Participate in projects as required.

Systems Used: Outlook, Ascend, ImageRight, Policy Decisions, web-based vendors. Knowledge of Genius is a plus but not required.

Broker Management & Client Relations:

  1. Partner with underwriting teams, focusing on service, retention, profitability, and growth.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with key brokers and decision makers.
  3. Occasionally accompany underwriters on marketing visits.
  4. Prepare submissions for rating; act as a liaison among brokers, underwriters, and operations.

Underwriting Support:

  1. Perform prequalification on all submissions and recommend actions.
  2. Maintain timely and accurate underwriting files.
  3. Negotiate effectively to balance relationships and business goals.
  4. Support underwriting strategies and understand the book of business.

Workflow Coordination:

  1. Coordinate activities for supporting tasks like Rating, Risk Engineering, etc.
  2. Prioritize workload based on service needs.
  3. Monitor performance to meet quality and service standards.
  4. Facilitate task routing among teams.

Project and Backup Support:

  1. Provide backup for other Account Managers.
  2. Support projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as an Account Manager or similar in Commercial Insurance.
  • Knowledge of Excess Wholesale, Primary Casualty, Auto, General Liability; E&S experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in Commercial Lines rating, Microsoft Office, and insurance platforms like ImageRight.
  • Ability to support West Coast hours, strong customer service, communication, technical skills, and professionalism.

Technical Requirements: High-speed internet with minimum speeds of 75MB download/10MB upload.

Compensation: The annual base pay ranges from $59,200 to $88,800, based on market analysis and individual factors. Compensation may include bonuses, incentives, and recognition.
