Job summary

The American Heart Association seeks an Account Manager for Career Span Programs & Member Journeys in our Professional Membership group at the National Center in Dallas, TX. You will drive programming for Fellows-in-Training and early to mid-career committees, fostering member journeys that boost development, engagement, and retention.

You will collaborate across the membership team to plan high-quality professional education, manage logistics for committees and events, and support volunteers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of three years of project management in a professional setting; preferably science/medical association.
  • Demonstrated experience working with science/clinical volunteers.
  • Passion for virtual learning techniques.
  • Excellent training and communication skills with healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication, customer service skills.
  • Willingness to travel overnight ~10%.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop relationships with cardiology fellows and fellowship program directors to grow participation and membership.
  • Partner with field team to assess training needs of cardiology fellows.
  • Increase conversion of Fellows-in-Training to paid early career members after program completion.
  • Collaborate with the member content lead for planning and delivering high-quality education programs (in-person and virtual).
  • Manage logistics and registration for leadership, functional, and committee meetings and teleconferences.
  • Implement nomination and election processes for committee members and AHA positions.
  • Support navigation, engagement, and career growth of Fellows within the Association.
  • Lead and staff the COC Early Career and Mid-Career Committees.
  • Oversee personal and professional development programming for Scientific Sessions and the International Stroke Conference.
  • Ensure project timelines, deadlines, and effective communication.
  • Establish trusted communication with volunteers and anticipate needs.

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for an Account Manager, Career Span Programs & Member Journeys, in our Professional Membership group at our National Center office in Dallas, TX.


The Account Manager, Career Span Programs & Member Journeys, manages programs and volunteer-led initiatives serving members at key stages of their careers, with primary responsibility for the Fellows-in-Training Program and the COC Early Career and Mid-Career Committees.


The position contributes to and manages initiatives related to the Fellows-in-Training Program, the COC Early Career and Mid-Career Committees, while collaborating across the membership team to develop member journeys that strengthen professional development, engagement, conversion, and retention.

Responsibilities


  • Identify and develop relationships with cardiology fellows and fellowship training program directors to grow their participation and membership with the American Heart Association.

  • Partner with field team colleagues to assess training needs of cardiology fellows.

  • Work across the membership team to help increase the conversion rate of Fellows-in-Training to paid early career members upon program completion.

  • Partner with the member content lead to ensure the successful planning and execution of high-quality, innovative professional education programs in both in-person and virtual settings.

  • Manage the logistics and registration for leadership, functional, and special interest committee meetings and teleconferences.

  • Implement processes for nominating and electing committee members, and submitting nominations for American Heart Association positions.

  • Support navigation, engagement, and career growth of American Heart Association Fellows within the American Heart Association.

  • Lead and staff the COC Early Career Committee and Mid-Career Committee.

  • Manage personal and professional development programming for Scientific Sessions and the International Stroke Conference.

  • Management of project timelines, deadline compliance and effective communication and dissemination of both.

  • Establish trusted communication with volunteers and anticipate needs and expectations.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of project management experience in a professional business setting; preferably a science and/or medical association.

  • Demonstrated experience working with and handling science/clinical volunteers.

  • Has a passion and interest in virtual learning techniques.

  • Excellent training skills, with the ability to clearly communicate with a variety of healthcare professionals.

  • Must be able to balance multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to lead, build, and show demonstrated growth of programs.

  • Ability to meet established deadlines while working independently.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service skills to both internal and external customers.

  • Ability to travel overnight approx. 10% of the time.
