The Opportunity

Abbott’s Cardiometabolic sales team seeks an Account Manager for the Midwest, based in Albany, NY. The territory includes North of NYC, Albany, Buffalo, Western MA, Western CT, and Vermont.

The Account Manager will oversee ARDx’s Cardiometabolic product portfolio, focusing on point-of-care testing with Afinion (HbA1C, ACR) and Cholestech LDX (cholesterol, lipids, glucose). Responsibilities include working with technical consultants and enterprise account managers, achieving sales targets, and developing client relationships, including distributors and end users.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and capitalize on sales opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships.
  • Strategically develop point-of-care sales opportunities.
  • Implement sales and marketing programs.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge.
  • Support regional growth aligned with account objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise for complex sales.
  • Meet sales goals within the territory budget.
  • Manage and train distributor sales teams.
  • Support distribution partners with training, technical support, and marketing.
  • Handle contract negotiations, pricing, proposals, and customer follow-up.
  • Resolve sales-related issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business, or life sciences.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in medical diagnostics or B2B sales.
  • Experience working with distribution partners.
  • Strong sales techniques and strategy execution skills.
  • Proven success in point-of-care/capital equipment sales.

The base salary range is $66,700 – $133,300, with variations by location.
