Acetylene Black, a high-purity member of the Carbon Black family, is a vital component in industries such as batteries, tires/rubber, paints, and conductive coatings. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

To excel in this role, you must successfully perform the following key responsibilities:

  • Drive sales activities within your assigned territory/accounts to meet or exceed sales quotas.
  • Build, maintain, and expand strong customer relationships.
  • Identify new business opportunities and innovative product applications.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with key decision-makers at all levels.
  • Stay informed about customer needs, industry trends, acquisitions, pricing, and competition.
  • Become an expert in company products, applications, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and sales progress.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
  • Adhere to company policies on sales forecasting, creditworthiness, expense reporting, and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives and the customer service team.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
  • Travel required (approximately 35-50%).

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in the Carbon Black industry, preferably in Acetylene Black, with knowledge of applications in rubber, batteries, inks, and coatings.
  • Ability to collaborate with Business Managers and Technical Managers on product development.
  • Serve as a go-to expert for Acetylene Black inquiries and applications.
  • Proven experience in sales processes and business development strategies.
  • Lab experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving conflicts and developing new product solutions.
  • Professional presence and strong communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Effective negotiation skills and ability to manage intercompany transactions.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Adaptability, integrity, and a positive, proactive attitude.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems.
