Job summary

White Cap in Tampa is hiring an Account Manager for an Accelerated Sales Program designed to fast-track sales careers outside the industry. The 6-12 month program pairs you with sales leaders to develop skills, relationships with customers and suppliers, and knowledge of White Cap’s business model.

You will learn to prepare account plans, sell White Cap products, enter orders, and participate in on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 1–2 years of sales experience.
• Strong communication skills; comfortable interacting with team.
• Requires strong self-governance, proactive approach, personal accountability, and independence.
• Competitive nature with a drive to succeed.
• Goal-oriented with personal accountability to deliver on metrics.
• Open to feedback and willing to take action to improve performance.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize daily activities.
• Spanish language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Participates in classroom, independent study, and on-the-job training to learn the White Cap’s business model, products, vendors, customer needs, jobsite environment, systems, competitors, pricing, sales approach, and selling skills.
• Prepares and executes account plans.
• Sells White Cap value proposition and products.
• Learns about making effective jobsite or office sales calls by riding along with the District Sales Manager or experienced Account Managers.
• Enters and processes customer orders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Participants will work closely with White Cap sales leaders in a 6-12 month program to develop the skills, customer and supplier relationships, and knowledge needed to be successful in outside sales.

• Participates in classroom, independent study, and on-the-job training to learn the White Cap’s business model, products, vendors, customer needs, jobsite environment, systems, competitors, pricing, sales approach, and selling skills.
• Prepares and executes account plans.
• Sells White Cap value proposition and products.
• Learns about making effective jobsite or office sales calls by riding along with the District Sales Manager or experienced Account Managers.
• Enters and processes customer orders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• This position requires operation of a company vehicle or a personal vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 80% of the average work week. If selected for this position, the company will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.
