Job summary

White Cap is hiring for an Account Manager in the Accelerated Sales Program in Portland, OR. This 6–12 month training track moves high-potential sales professionals from outside industries into White Cap’s outside sales roles as they build relationships with customers and vendors.

Program participants will learn White Cap's business model, perform account planning, sell our value proposition, and gain field experience with mentors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field or one to two years of sales or related field experience.
• Strong communication skills and comfortable interacting with team members.
• Requires strong self-governance, a proactive approach, personal accountability, and independence.
• Competitive nature with a drive to succeed.
• Goal-oriented with personal accountability to deliver on metrics.
• Open to feedback and willing to take action to improve performance.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize daily activities.
• Spanish language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Participates in classroom, independent study, and on-the-job training to learn the White Cap's business model, products, vendors, customer needs, jobsite environment, systems, competitors, pricing, sales approach, and selling skills.
• Prepares and executes account plans.
• Sells White Cap value proposition and products.
• Learns about making effective jobsite or office sales calls by riding along with the District Sales Manager or experienced Account Managers.
• Enters and processes customer orders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• This position requires operation of a company vehicle or a personal vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 80% of the average work week. If selected for this position, the company will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
